The Holiday Season is here again. At this time of the year, people specially the kids are prone to getting infected with colds and flu. Aside from these two diseases, we can all become subjected to other disease such as conjunctivitis, pharyngitis, tonsillitis, pneumonia, to name just a few. According to the Center for Disease Control, the simplest way to protect yourself from these diseases is by washing your hands.
The whole month of December will be commemorated in the United States as National Hand Washing Awareness Month. Now more than ever, we need to start practicing hand washing whenever possible. We are constantly in contact with airborne viruses so hand washing is a safety precaution that we can all undertake. There are many healthcare items in the market nowadays that help promote proper hand washing. So here are some tips on protecting your hands from infection:
Dry Your Hands With Water
Use clean customized towels when drying your hands. Recent surveys have shown that wet hands transmit more infectious materials than dirty hands. If there are no clean towels, you can use a towel made from logo paper products instead.
Use Hand Sanitizers
Corporate logo hand sanitizers are often recommended as an alternative to soap because they contain alcohol. For this reason, sanitizers have been used in hospitals because they lessen the possibility of infection.
Wash Your hands Properly
The proper way of washing your hand is to rub them together ensuring that all areas are covered. Do this for at least 15 seconds. When turning off the faucet, use custom made towels and not your hand to keep it from getting contaminated again.
Our hands, like our feet, is perhaps the most abused part of our body. Learning the proper way of washing them is important to avoid getting sick. As we celebrate National Hand Washing Awareness Month, let us realize the importance of washing our hands the proper way.
