The whole month of December is commemorated as Universal Human Rights Month. This is very timely because there are many people whose human rights have been violated and yet have not been given justice. The event celebrates the signing of the Declaration of Human Rights by the United Nations General Assembly on December 10, 1948.
There are many organizations advocating the preservation of human rights like Amnesty International or Human Rights Watch. However, they cannot do it alone. The extent of human rights violation is worldwide so every individual must do their part in protecting and preserving human rights.
